Suzuki Lab @Texas A&M University

Environmental exposures during development are strongly associated with disease risks later in life.

How does our body remember the exposure status?

Our History

2020 April

The Suzuki Lab started!

2020 April

Our 1st R01 funded!

NIH/NHLBI
IMPACT OF PRENATAL VITAMIN A DEFICIENCY ON CELL FATE ALTERATIONS IN ADULT AIRWAY HYPERRESPONSIVENESS

2020 July

Betelehem (Beth) Solomon Bera joined the Suzuki Lab!

Welcome to the Suzuki Lab!!

2021 May

We moved !

We moved to Price 469. Our new adventure starts!

2021 May

Our first paper on the Vitamin A project is out!

Vitamin A deficiency prevalence varies between different ethnic groups/races and may be causally associated with genetic variants conferring risk for low retinol levels.

2021 June

Zachary (Zach) Cardell joined the Suzuki lab

Zach is working on gene transcriptome analyses on human cell lines and mouse model datasets.

2021 Oct

A paper on the kidney development of the pre-term birth study is out!

This is a collaboration project with Drs. Charlton (UVA) and Reidy (Einstein).

2022 April

Yuta Matsuno joined the Suzuki lab

Yuta is going to work on how prenatal vitamin A deficiency affects the lung development of the offspring.

2022 April

Our review paper on genetic variations of vitamin A-absorption and storage-related genes is out!

We discuss genetic variations associated with vitamin A status and vitamin A bioactivity-associated genes

2022 May

Our prenatal Vitamin D deficiency paper is out!

We found that the long-term memory of prenatal vitamin D deficiency exposure in the adult liver, including cell-subtype composition changes, is a potential contributor to offspring health risks.

2022 July

Marianny Alvarado joined the Suzuki lab

Marianny is a PREP scholar at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is going to work on our new project, Hidden Hunger.

2023 Feb

Suzuki lab moved to Texas A&M University
